Thirty-six credits across six semesters, built to be taken part-time online while you keep working. MCPHS runs Fall and Spring starts only. Of the three Massachusetts programs it sits in the middle on both length and price, which makes it the default choice in the state unless one of the other two has something you specifically want.

Bay Path offers 14 concentration tracks, which is far more specialisation than any other Massachusetts program and more than almost anywhere else. Forty-eight credits across 16 courses, completable in two years, starting each January and September. Bay Path is also unusually direct that the degree leads to no licensure, including in tracks with clinical-sounding names like Advanced Genetic Counseling.

The shortest DHSc in the country at 35 credits over five semesters, and MGH Institute publishes 20 months to complete. It is also the most expensive university on this list by published graduate tuition, so the short degree does not automatically mean a cheap one. You need both a bachelor's and a master's, and there is one on-site visit at the end timed to commencement.
Massachusetts is where price and length come apart most sharply. MGH Institute runs the shortest DHSc in the country at 35 credits over 20 months, and it is attached to the highest published graduate tuition on this site. A short degree is not automatically a cheap one, and this state is the clearest proof of it.
All three Massachusetts programs are delivered online, so being in the state buys you nothing on access. What it does buy is a particular kind of institution: these are three specialist health sciences universities rather than general campuses with a health school bolted on, and the cohorts reflect that.
The real choice here is between breadth and speed. Bay Path offers 14 concentration tracks, more than any other program we verified, so two graduates can leave with quite different degrees. MCPHS and MGH Institute are shorter and more prescribed. If you already know the specific thing you want to become expert in, Bay Path is the only program in the state likely to have a track for it.
